PURPOSE: A control device of a step-up and step-down pressuring mode converter and a control method thereof are provided to reduce an error of judgment caused by floating of a voltage value when the step-up and step-down pressuring mode converter determines mode conversion by an input voltage and an output voltage. CONSTITUTION: When a controlling device(200) is a step-up pressuring mode or an step-down pressuring mode, the controlling device generates controlling signals(S1~S4) by a reference signal(Vc) and selection of the reference signal(Vg1). The controlling device generates the controlling signal by the reference signal and the selection of a reference signal(Vg2) in the step-up and step-down pressuring mode. When a step-up and step-down pressuring mode converter(100) converts the step-up pressuring mode and/or the step-down pressuring mode into the step-up and step-down pressuring mode according to installation of the reference signals and a relation circuit, the step-up and step-down pressuring mode converter reduces a ripple of an output voltage(Vout).
