Security communication system for signalling system conditions

The system has electronic circuits (25, 35, 45) for modulating predetermined signals to signalize a critical or uncritical system status. Multiple series-switched sub-stations (20-40) are assigned to an evaluation unit (10). The predetermined signals are modulated such that state of the predetermined signals is changed at an assigned location. The evaluation unit receives the modulated predetermined signals at a signal connector (12) for evaluating the modulated predetermined signals and controlling a safety function in response to an evaluation result. An independent claim is also included for a method for signaling a status of a safety-communication system.
