CRYOPRESERVATION MEDIUM FOR STEM CELLS AND CRYOPRESERVATION METHOD FOR STEM CELLS USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A stem cell cryo-extender and a stem cell cryo-extending method using the same are provided to store stem cells for long time and to increase survival rate after defreeze. CONSTITUTION: A stem cell cryo-extender comprises 0.2-0.4M of sucrose among PBS(phosphate buffered saline) solution, more than 40 volume% of ethylene glycol, and 10-30 volume% of polyvinylpyrrolidone. The stem cell is an adult stem cell. The adult stem cell is bone marrow, peripheral blood, umbilical cord blood or fat originated. The stem cell cryo-extending method comprises the following steps: obtaining cell pellets by centrifugining the cultured stem cells; adding PBS solution which includes more than 40 volume% of ethylene glycol to the cell pellets; and adding the cryo-extender in the cell pellet and keeping in a liquid nitrogen tank.
