PURPOSE: A position determination method of a navigation device is provided to set a current position of a navigation device. CONSTITUTION: A position setting method of a navigation device is as follows. A plurality of position determination processes(301-304) actuating by using a pre-defined parameter set is provided. A plurality of geographic areas(A-C) related to each position determination process is provided. A general position of a navigation device is decided. The geographic area in which the navigation device is positioned is determined among the plurality of geographic areas based on the general position of the navigation device. One process among the plurality of position determination processes is selected based on the determined geographic area. The position of the navigation device is determined base on the selected position determination process.
