Cereal grain is impregnated with a solution containing vitamins and mineral substances and coated with an edible coating insoluble in cold but removable in hot water comprising a film-forming agent, e.g. a corn protein such as zein, an adhesive agent, e.g. abietic acid and a plasticizer, e.g. a higher fatty acid such as palmitic or stearic. Only a portion of the grain to be enriched may be treated and thereafter mixed with the required quantity of non-treated grain. |
