<p>A method of coupling a first to a second surface and a corresponding system are disclosed, said system comprising two components (200, 210) having respective first (230) and second (240) surfaces, wherein a separation interface is defined between first and second surface, a layer of adhesive (250) applied along the interface, and a first portion of the pull cord embedded into the adhesive layer along the separation interface, a second portion of the pull string extending externally to said adhesive layer. Optional features are the pull cord having a high dielectric strength and a low or negative coefficient of thermal expansion; the cord may form a loop (330) at the end or the ends may be adjacent to each other. The adhesive may have high temperature cure requirements. The pull cord may be coupled to the consumable part. The separating of the two components may be used in aircraft e.g. for replacing thermal protection tiles.</p> |
