A RULE-BASED ONTOLOGY CONVERTING DEVICE FOR CONVERTING FROM RELATIONAL DATABASE TO AN ONTOLOGY INSTANCE AND THE METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An ontology conversion device based on rules converting a relational database into ontology and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to edit conversion rules and supply ontology schemas when medical terms are converted into an ontology form, thereby generating the ontology. CONSTITUTION: A table inputting unit(31) inputs a database table. A class inputting unit(32) inputs an ontology class. A rule generating unit(33) generates conversion rules which the database table is converted into an instance of the ontology class. An entity converting unit(34) reads entities from the database table. The entity converting unit generates an ontology instance corresponding to the entities according to the conversion rules.
