<PICT:0648917/III/1> An apparatus for coating flaps of box blanks with glue, used in conjunction with a machine for securing the coated box flaps by pressure (see Group XVII), comprises wet and dry coating rolls 43, 42 driven from a motor 51. The roll 43 revolves in a trough 40a supplied with glue from a pot 40, by a screw feed 110. The pot 40 has an electrically heated water jacket 106 and has a removable top 81 on which is mounted the roll 42 and associated gearing. The roll 42 may be swung clear of the roll 43. A fan 120 supplies air to the roll 42 to prevent condensation of moisture from the glue. The angle between the rolls may be adjusted. The apparatus is adjustably pivoted to the pressing machine. |
