PURPOSE: A cleaning method of a robot cleaner is provided to accurately predict the area of a cleaning zone by comparing the travel time or the number of collision with preliminarily calculated area data. CONSTITUTION: A cleaning method of a robot cleaner comprises the steps of: counting the travel time of a robot cleaner until colliding with four side walls in a cleaning zone and storing counting data recorded with the number of collision or travel time(S125), determining the area of the cleaning zone by comparing the area data and counting data stored in the robot cleaner(S130), and determining the maximum radius of rotation according to the area of the cleaning zone and setting a spiral travel pattern(S150).
