摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the pyruvic acid metabolism pathway of a microorganism, in association with the method for controlling the metabolism pathway of the microorganism. <P>SOLUTION: The metabolism of the microorganism, having a starting point of pyruvic acid is controlled by making an electrode in contact with a culturing environment comprising the microorganism producing metabolites from the pyruvic acid, and culturing while controlling the potential of the electrode. More specifically, the method is provided by using the microorganism having the metabolism pathways having a reducing pathway of reducing the pyruvic acid to lactic acid and an oxidation pathway of oxidizing the pyruvic acid to an acetyl coenzyme (A), as a controlling objective microorganism, making the electrode in contact with the culturing environment containing the microorganism, and by culturing the microorganisms while controlling the potential of the electrode to the reducing potential to prompt the reducing reaction in the reducing pathway and to decrease the oxidation reaction in the oxidizing pathways. Oppositely, by culturing while controlling the potential of the electrode to the oxidizing potential, the reducing reaction in the reducing pathway is decreased and the oxidation reaction in the oxidizing pathway is prompted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
