<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid light source lighting device capable of stable light control in a wide range. <P>SOLUTION: The solid light source lighting device includes: a DC power supply circuit 1 which supplies a current to a solid light source 3 by power-converting an input DC power supply Vdc using a switching element Q1; and a current control part 2 which controls the switching element Q1 so as to adjust the current flowing through the solid light source 3. The current control part 2 includes: a first switching control means which changes the ON width of the switching element Q1 and a second switching control means which performs the energizing/de-energizing control of the switching element Q1.
