<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a load exerted on a fixing belt when a fixing pressure member is contacted against a rotating fixing belt. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing unit 60 comprises: a fixing belt 61 for fixing a toner image on a sheet; a drive motor for rotatively driving the fixing belt; a pressure roll 62 which contacts with an outer peripheral surface of the fixing belt 61, rotates by following the rotation of the fixing belt 61 and presses a sheet passing in a nip pact where the pressure roll contacts with the fixing belt 61 to fix the toner image on the sheet; a contact/separation mechanism 100 which moves the pressure roll 62 in one direction toward the fixing belt 61 and in the other direction away from the fixing belt 61 to cause the pressure roll 62 to contact with/separate from the fixing belt 61; and a rotation-imparting mechanism 200 for rotating the pressure roll 62 in the same direction as the rotation direction (an arrow C direction) of the fixing belt 61 in the nip part when the contact/separation mechanism 100 moves the pressure roll 62 toward one direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
