IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of enhancing the brightness of a 3D image when plural viewers view the 3D image on the single image display device.

SOLUTION: An image display device includes: an image generation part capable of generating a stereoscopic image; a plurality of pairs of shutter-eye glasses having a left-eye shutter enabling transmission and shutoff of light to the left eye of a viewer and a right-eye shutter enabling transmission and shutoff of light to the right eye of the viewer; and a shutter control part capable of controlling opening/closing of the left-eye shutter and the right-eye shutter. The image generation part generates the stereoscopic image to output it to the shutter control part. The shutter control part collectively controls the opening/closing of either of the left-eye shutters or the right-eye shutters of the pairs of shutter-glasses on the basis of the stereoscopic image generated by the image generation part, and further independently controls the other shutters that are not collectively controlled.
