<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for holding confidential information which prevents both erroneous detection of theft of the device and leakage of confidential information in theft. <P>SOLUTION: In a control device 11, a volatile memory 18 stores confidential information. A current detection section 17 is connected to a load 12 incorporated in a building or the like near the control device 11 via a signal line 20 and continuously feeds the current of theft detection signals to the load 12 via the signal line 20. An information erasure section 19 monitors the current through the signal line 20 and, when detecting that the current through the signal line 20 is interrupted, stops power feeding to the volatile memory 18.
