<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a positive electrode active material for a lithium ion battery, capable of being formed in fine particles with favorable crystallinity and high purity by suppressing crystal growth, and furthermore capable of improving charge/discharge capacity and high rate characteristics; a method for producing the positive electrode active material for a lithium ion battery; a lithium ion battery electrode; and a lithium ion battery. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material for a lithium ion battery of the present invention comprises LiMPO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>(where, M represents one or more selected from the group consisting of Mn, Co and Ni). In the positive electrode active material, a ratio I(020)/I(200) between an X-ray intensity I(200) of the (200) face, the X-ray intensity corresponding to a diffraction angle 2θ of around 17° in an X-ray diffraction pattern, and an X-ray intensity I(020) of the (020) face, the X-ray intensity corresponding to a diffraction angle 2θ of around 29°, is 3.00 or higher and 5.00 or lower, and a specific surface area is 15 m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g or more and 50 m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
