<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of achieving high contrast, high-speed response and low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: In an insulating liquid 31, provided are migrating particles 32 and a porous layer 33 formed with fibrous structures including non-migrating particles of which optical reflection characteristics are different from those of the migrating particles, and a partition wall 35 adjacent to the porous layer.
