<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable improved with respect to optical fiber extraction performance in intermediate branching work and to demolition performance. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable 1 includes: a slot core 3 where coated optical fibers 2 are stored in laterally twisted slot grooves 8; a string-like member 4 spirally wound around an outer periphery of the slot core in a lengthwise direction of the cable; an inner layer sheath 5 which covers the string-like member 4 and the slot core 3 and has an opening 9 for exposing at least a part of the slot grooves 8, in the lengthwise direction of the cable; and an outer layer sheath 6 which is formed by extrusion molding to cover the inner layer sheath without thermal fusion to the inner layer sheath 5. The outer layer sheath 6, the inner layer sheath 5, the string-like member 4, and the slot core 3 of the optical fiber cable 1 comprise polyolefin resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
