METHOD FOR THE SOLAR ENERGY-ASSISTED CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A PORTABLE AND A STEADY DESALINATION UNIT BOTH DESTINED FOR THE SIMULTANEOUS PRODUCTION OF DESALINATED WATER AND SALT

Novelty: It is disclosed a simple method for the construction of water desalination units (the steady and the small portable desalination units) for the simultaneous production of desalinated water and salt via exclusive use of solar energy (use of solar collectors). Constitution: The invention is constituted of the steady desalination unit comprising evaporation basins made of simple materialsand covered with translucent film, and of a small portable desalination unit comprising a double-bottom evaporation basin wherethrough hot water is passing; solar collectors are connected to preceding evaporations basins for enhanced production capability and rapid sea water evaporation. Solar radiation is even exploited by the section of the units covered with translucent film and the solar collectors whereto the desalination units are connected with the aim to speed up the sea water evaporation. Except for increasing and retaining heat into the production area, the translucent film is apt to isolate environmental pollutants so that further processing of the resulted products before consumption is avoided. Both units can each be either utilised as a separate autonomous unit for the production of desalinated water and salt or as a part of a complex of an infinite number of cooperating subunits making part of a big-sized salt and water desalination unit.
