PURPOSE: A pneumatic tire is provided to improve driving performance on the muddy bottom while maintaining noise performance. CONSTITUTION: A pneumatic tire comprises a shoulder vertical groove(3) and shoulder horizontal groove(8). The shape of the shoulder vertical groove is formed in zigzag shape. The shoulder horizontal groove comprises a groove center line(8G) inclined at 5 to 20 degrees based on the axle of a tire. The groove width of the shoulder horizontal groove is increased gradually along the axle of a wheel. The ratio of the groove widths(Wi/Wo) is 1.5 to 3.0. Groove intersections(20, 21) are located along the zigzag shaped shoulder vertical groove.
