<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large and thin backlight unit which has a high front luminance of emission light, is capable of emitting light with little luminance unevenness by suppressing moire caused by microlens film, and can improve light utilization efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The planar lighting system is provided with: a light guide sheet of which the thickness is 2 mm or less and inside which scattering particles are dispersed; and an optical element which is arranged opposed to the light-emitting face of the light guide sheet and has a microlens film in which a plurality of micro-ball lenses of hemispherical shape are formed on the film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
