<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device 10 and an electronic clock 1 with high contrast and capable of thinning. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 10 includes: a liquid crystal panel 30 displaying information on a front side; a reflection plate 32 disposed at the back of the liquid crystal panel 30 and reflecting external light 70, which has entered the liquid crystal panel 30 through the front side, toward the front side; and a backlight 34 disposed at the back of the liquid crystal panel 30 and emitting illumination light 80. The liquid crystal display device 10 can display information by using the external light 70 and display information by using the illumination light 80. The backlight 34 includes a reflection part 19 disposed at least around the reflection plate 32 and reflecting the illumination light 80, which has been emitted from the backlight 34, toward the reflection plate 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
