<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid valve capable of enhancing flexibility in setting valve-opening characteristics of a main poppet or a sub poppet. <P>SOLUTION: In the solenoid valve 1, a pin poppet 60 moving in response to solenoid thrust changes an opening area of a sub pilot seat 51 so that the sub pilot pressure is adjusted, and sub poppet 40 moving in response to the sub pilot pressure changes the opening area of the main pilot seat 31 so that the main pilot pressure is adjusted, and the main poppet 5 moving in response to the main pilot pressure changes the opening area of the valve seat 11. The solenoid valve 1 includes a main case 3 in which the main poppet 5 is stored, and a valve housing 16 into which the sub poppet 40 is slidably fitted.
