<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make automatic stop time of an engine as long as possible while preventing an occupant in a vehicle from having a feeling of discomfort when the engine of the vehicle including an air conditioning system is automatically stopped. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioning system includes an air mixing space and an air mixing door. A device for controlling the automatic stop time of the engine restarts the engine even in the case where predetermined engine restart conditions are not established, when predetermined restart conditions associated with air conditioning are established by obtaining a predicted value of a blown air temperature during the automatic stop time of the engine on the basis of the degree of opening of the air mixing door and output values of cooling state and heating state detecting means. The heating state detecting means includes an external air temperature sensor for detecting an external air temperature of a heat exchanger for heating, and a heating medium temperature sensor for detecting a temperature of a heating medium circulated through the heat exchanger for heating. The device for controlling the automatic stop time of the engine obtains the predicted value of the blown air temperature by selecting either an output value of the external air temperature sensor or an output value of the heating medium temperature sensor depending on the degree of opening of the air mixing door. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
