PURPOSE: An ultrasound system and method for providing a three-dimensional ultrasound image based on a three-dimensional color reference table is provided to realistically express an object by calculating gradient in the process of rendering volume data in real time. CONSTITUTION: An ultrasound data acquisition unit(110) obtains ultrasound data by receiving an ultrasound signal reflected from a body. A storage(130) stores the ultrasound data. The storage stores a three-dimensional color reference table. A processor(120) includes a CPU, microprocessor and a GPU(graphic processing unit). A display unit(140) displays a three-dimensional ultrasound image formed in the processor.
