PURPOSE: A rotary engine is provided to improve mechanical efficiency and output by preventing inertia resistance as a circular eccentric rotor is directly rotated in a housing. CONSTITUTION: A rotary engine comprises a cylindrical housing(1), a eccentric rotor(2), barrier plates, pins, a coil spring, a fuel jetting valve(10), an ignition plug(11), an intake hole(12), and an exhaust hole(13). A shaft of the eccentric rotor is installed at the center of the cylindrical housing. The eccentric rotor contacts with the inner wall of the housing. A recessed surface(4) is formed on the circumferential surface of the eccentric rotor. The barrier plates are placed in arc-shaped grooves formed on the tope and lower bottom of the housing. The barrier plates are supported by the pins inserted into corner holes. The circumferential surface of the eccentric rotor elastically contacts with one side of the barrier plate, and the airtightness is maintained. The fuel jetting valve and the ignition plug are installed in a combustion chamber(9). Intake and exhaust holes are formed at the left and right sides of the bottom of the housing.
