<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet, including an intermediate layer which has a barrier effect for preventing diffusion of a dye image and sufficient adhesiveness for preventing separation of a dye-receiving layer from base material, favorably compared with or better than the conventional product with regard to preservation of an image, capable of forming a printing image with high concentration and high resolution, and forming the intermediate layer achieving the excellent properties from material contributing to environmental friendliness. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal transfer image-receiving sheet is formed by laminating the intermediate layer and a dye-receiving layer in this order, on at least one of faces of the base material.
