<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which can satisfy both high heat-up performance and high heat capacity simultaneously and also, can clean an exhaust gas to be discharged from a diesel engine etc. efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: This honeycomb structure 10 includes a center part region 11, including a center axis, which is formed by a first partition wall 1a with a first thickness, in a surface which is perpendicular to a communicating direction where cells 2 communicate. In addition, the outer circumferential part region 12 outside of the center part region 11 is formed of a second partition wall 1b with a second thickness which is thicker than the first thickness. Further, the pitch of the cells at least in one direction of the outer circumferential part region 12, is larger than the pitch of the cells in the center part region 11. The cells 2 of the center part region 11 are of the square shape, and the cells 2 constituting the outer circumferential part region 12 have a numerical aperture 1.00 to 1.10 times the cells 2 constituting the center part region 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
