<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select one image-forming mode suitable to image-forming based on image data from among first through third image-forming modes that use different number of colors in the image forming. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes an image forming part 30 for forming an image on a printing medium using one image-forming mode of a first image-forming mode forming an image using a large number of colors, a second image-forming mode forming an image using a plurality of colors including chromatic colors of the number less than the large number of colors, and a third image-forming mode forming a black/white image; an ACS processing part 45 for detecting colors of pixels forming an image from image data; and a print color mode determination part 46 for selecting one image-forming mode from among the first through third image forming modes on the basis of the number of colors of pixels detected by the ACS processing part 45, the mode to be used by the image forming part 30 forming an image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
