<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decline in back pressure of blown gas in an upper nozzle with a refractory for gas blowing. <P>SOLUTION: In the upper nozzle 10A, the refractory 13 for gas blowing is incorporated on a nozzle hole 12 side of a nozzle body 11 made of a refractory brick, and at least the outside surface of the refractory 13 for gas blowing is surrounded by a metal plate 14.
