<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate advancement of a plunger, to stabilize behavior of the plunger, and to improve durability of a ratchet mechanism while reducing noise due to backlash, by contriving the shape of sliding surfaces of rack teeth of the ratchet mechanism of a ratchet-type tensioner. <P>SOLUTION: The ratchet mechanism of the ratchet tensioner includes a ratchet 150 freely slidably housed in a housing and moved in a sliding direction, rack teeth 122 provided in the plunger 120 and engageable with the ratchet teeth 151 of the ratchet 150, and a ratchet-energizing spring for energizing the ratchet 150 in an engaging direction. The rack teeth 122 have stop surfaces 122a facing the setback direction and sliding surfaces 122a inclined in the setback direction in a disengaging direction. The sliding surfaces 122b are curved surfaces 180 bulging in an advancing direction and in the disengaging direction between an entering starting part 123 and an entering ending part 124. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
