PURPOSE: A dish washer and a control method thereof are provided to improve sanitation by sterilizing the dish washer according to input for selecting a sterilizing course when restarting the dish washer after left for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A dish washer comprises a control panel with an input part for selecting a sterilizing course, a tub(12) accommodating tableware, a water supply unit(110) supplying washing water, a sump(100) receiving the washing water supplied from the water supply unit, a heater heating the washing water in the sump, and a steam jet nozzle(27) jetting steam, created according to the operation of the heater, into the tub. |
