PURPOSE: A bio-soluble mineral wool fiber composition and a mineral wool fiber is provided to maintain thermal and physical properties of the mineral wool fiber and to have excellent bio-solubility. CONSTITUTION: A bio-soluble mineral wool fiber composition comprises 45-67 wt% of sum content of SiO2 and Al2O3, 20.1-50 wt% of sum content of CaO, MgO, Na2O, and K2O, and other components. The bio-soluble mineral wool fiber composition comprises 30-45 wt% of SiO2, 15-22 wt% of Al2O3, 8-12 wt% of iron oxide (including one or more FeO and Fe2O3), 15-30 wt% of CaO, 5-15 wt% of MgO, and 0.1-5 wt% of R2O (including one or more Na2O and K2O). The dissolution rate constant for simulated body fluid of the bio-soluble mineral wool fiber composition is 300ng/cm^2·hr or greater.
