<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary tampon and an applicator-type tampon whose absorber can be easily and appropriately taken out from the vagina. <P>SOLUTION: The sanitary tampon 10 includes the absorber 11 and a strand member 12 extending out from the tail end of the absorber 11 in the direction of insertion into the vagina.
