<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door which is capable of activating and inactivating a function of automatically opening/closing a shoji screen in a simple structure and operation. <P>SOLUTION: A sliding door comprises a shoji screen 2, a frame 1, an automatic opening/closing device 3 and a rack 8. The automatic opening/closing device 3 is mounted on either the shoji screen 2 or the frame 1 and has a gear 13, and the rack 8 is included in either the shoji screen 2 or the frame 1 where there is not the automatic opening/closing device 3. The automatic opening/closing device 3 is configured to close or open the shoji screen utilizing accumulated energy by operating the shoji screen 2 in an opening direction or a closing direction when the rack 8 and the gear 13 are engaged, and the rack 8 is movable while being engaged with and disengaged from the gear 13 freely, and is capable of selecting whether to operate the automatic opening/closing device 3 on the shoji screen 2 through a moving operation of the rack 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
