<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable heat-insulating jar having an improved heat insulating property of a rice container in a configuration combining the rice container having a heat insulating structure with side dish containers having no heat insulating structure and storing them in an outer case. <P>SOLUTION: The rice container (2) and the side dish containers (3) each formed into a laterally long shape are stored in the book-shaped outer case (5) with the side dish containers (3) stacked on the rice container (2), and the rice container (2) is stored in an inner case (11). The inner case (11) includes a bag body (15) with soft flexibility that forms a heat-insulating storage chamber (14) having a lower opening by perpendicularly providing a peripheral wall (13) from an upper wall (12), in which both the walls have heat insulating structure. The rice container (2) is pushed in the heat-insulating chamber (14) with an upper lid (7) directed upward and retained therein in close contact therewith, and the lower opening is covered with a lower lid (16).
