<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide useful information to users. <P>SOLUTION: An information processing system 100 receives information for making notification of a commodity placed in front of a member customer 300 that is obtained by wireless communication between a wireless access point 500 installed in a retail store sales space 200 in which commodities are placed and a portable terminal device 400 carried by the member customer 300, from the wireless access point 500. The information processing system 100 extracts recommendation information and the like corresponding to the commodity of which notification is made and transmits the extracted recommendation information and the like to the wireless access point 500.
