<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal that can easily recognize an ongoing direction and lowers the possibility that a climbing route to a destination is misunderstood. <P>SOLUTION: A portable information terminal 1 includes: position and direction measurement sections 2, 4, and 5 which acquire position and direction information on the terminal itself; a camera 3 for imaging a scene of a circumferential of the terminal itself; a route search section 12 which searches for a climbing route from the position of the terminal itself to a destination based upon map information; and a display section 8 which displays moving images of guide bodies 16 and 18 of one of a person, an animal or plant, and an animation character guiding an ongoing direction along the route searched for by the route search section so as to be superimposed on an image picked up by the camera. The moving images of the guide person type characters such as the animation character guiding the ongoing direction are superimposed on the image picked up by the camera, so a user can recognize the ongoing direction as if the user has seen the actual scene in the ongoing direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
