<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device that allows entire transfer members to be directly transitioned to an evacuation state where the entire transfer members are evacuated from the rear surface of an endless belt from both of a multiple-color transfer state where the entire transfer members contact the rear surface of the endless belt and a single-color transfer state where one transfer member contacts the rear surface of the endless belt, as well as an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a first switching mechanism 110 capable of switching from a multiple-color transfer state to a single-color transfer state; and a second switching mechanism 130 capable of evacuating one transfer member in the single-transfer state from the rear surface of an endless member so as to allow the entire transfer members to be switched to an evacuation state where the entire transfer members are evacuated from the rear surface of the endless member, and switching from the multiple-color transfer state to the evacuation state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
