PURPOSE: A method for controlling the discharge of a storage battery in a rice cooker is provided to efficiently prevent the shortage of a lifetime of the storage battery by delaying the complete discharge of the storage battery. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit(110) includes a utility power source(111) and a constant voltage converter(112). A control unit(130) controls a relay driving unit(140) according to a logic state of a signal transmitted from a utility power source detector(120). The relay driving unit changes a contact state of a relay(170) according to a control signal of the control unit. A storage battery(150) supplies power to a load(160) when the utility power source is blocked. A storage battery voltage detector(180) detects the voltage level of the storage battery.
