<p>The adjuster has a base phase position setting unit (10) with a temperature-dependent adjustment element (13) for adjusting a base phase position as a function of temperature of an internal combustion engine in an operating mode. The temperature-dependent adjustment element is connected with an energy storage element (11) e.g. bimetal torsion spring, for providing temperature-dependent twist moment. The temperature-dependent adjustment element is designed as a bimetallic element. The temperature-dependent adjustment element is thermally coupled to the engine using a thermal connection unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cam shaft adjuster.</p> |
