VISUALIZING TRANSACTION TRACES AS FLOWS THROUGH A MAP OF LOGICAL SUBSYSTEMS

PURPOSE: A method for visualizing a transaction as streams passing through a map of logical sub systems is provided to diagnose problems in a computing system by visualizing streams passing through the computing system. CONSTITUTION: A data storage medium is accessed to access data obtained from agents(112,116) related to an application. The agents supply the data by using instrumentation installed in the application and display a classification map domain on a UI. The classification map domain graphically displays subsystems of the application and a subordinate relationship between the subsystems.
