The heater (10) has a heating device (14) that is arranged for heating a fluid pipe (12). The fluid pipe is provided with two pipe strings (16,18) arranged such that longitudinal direction of the pipe strings coincides with longitudinal direction of extension of the heating device. The pipe strings are connected over predominant length of the heating device. U-shaped connection region (22) is provided for connecting the pipe strings.
