<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient entry of a handwriting character in an electronic device having a dictionary function. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic device having the dictionary function comprises a handwriting entry part 16 and a touch panel type display part 17. An entry screen into which a retrieval character for dictionary retrieval is entered is displayed on the touch panel type display part 17, and a character-recognized character is displayed as the retrieval character on the entry screen of the touch panel type display part 17 and the handwriting entry part 16 when a character is entered in handwriting with a user operation on the handwriting entry part 16. When either of the retrieval characters displayed on both the entry screen of the touch panel type display part 17 and the handwriting entry part 16 is touch-specified in response to the user operation, character recognition candidates of the specified character are displayed on the handwriting part and the entered retrieval character is corrected by selecting one of the candidates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
