IMPROVED PHOTONIC CRYSTAL STRUCTURE SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic sensor and a method for manufacturing the acoustic sensor.

SOLUTION: An acoustic sensor includes: at least one photonic crystal structure; and an optical fiber having an end optically coupled to the at least one photonic crystal structure. The acoustic sensor further includes a structure part mechanically coupled to the at least one photonic crystal structure and the optical fiber. The at least one photonic crystal structure, the optical fiber, and the structure part substantially form boundaries with an area having a certain volume so that a frequency response of the acoustic sensor becomes even as a whole within a range of an acoustic frequency.
