The wooden piece (1) i.e. wooden plate has a bonding surface including grain surfaces (11), where joints, cracks or other cavities (12) of the grain surfaces are filled with a filler (3) such that the filler solidifies below the maximum value of permissible temperature and liquefies above the maximum value of permissible temperature. The filler is selected from one of stearin, paraffin, and wax, where the bonding surface is interconnectable with a bonding surface of another wooden plate. An independent claim is also included for a method for protecting a bonding surface of a wooden piece.
