A distributed bill query management system and method are provided by the invention. The system comprises: a memory file database unit, a network file management unit and two or more than two interconnected data acquisition units. The method stores the indexes of call records in bill files to the memory file database unit previously, and stores the bill files to the network file management unit. When receiving a user query request, the data acquisition unit forwards the request to the memory file database unit. The memory file database unit searches for the index records matching conditions, and returns the query result. The data acquisition unit regards the query result as a batch of tasks, and allocates the tasks to itself and other normal working data acquisition units in the system. The data acquisition units perform the tasks and return position information. The current data acquisition unit reads the contents and summarizes them, then returns the summarized result to the user. The invention is easy to be extended and has a low cost.
