<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a CPU load of a transmission device. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transmission device comprises a statistical information counter 114c, a statistical information memory 111m, a HW threshold value setting part 111c and a polling processing circuit 111i. The statistical information counter 114c acquires statistical information of each communication path for every predetermined time period. The statistical information memory 111m holds the statistical information. The HW threshold value setting part 111c sets a threshold value serving as a trigger for causing the statistical information memory 111m to hold the statistical information acquired by the statistical information counter 114c.
