<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for taking 3D images which is compact and inexpensive and in which an imaging optical system is easy to align. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an imaging element for taking 3D images which condenses light from an object surface. The imaging element comprises a micro lens array 51 and at least a pair of light receiving parts 52L and 52R with respect to each micro lens 51a of the micro lens array 51.
