<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFID module having a novel configuration capable of expanding the allowable resonance frequency range, and to provide a portable device using the same, at a relatively low cost. <P>SOLUTION: Resonance frequency adjustment circuits 231, 232 are connected to an antenna element of a loop antenna 220 as an RFID antenna and adjust the resonance frequency thereof. The resonance frequency adjustment circuits 231, 232 include respective capacitors C1, C2 with one ends connected to one end of the antenna element; respective field effect transistors FET1, 2 with drain terminals connected to the other ends of the respective capacitors C1, C2 and with source terminals grounded; and respective pull-up resistors R1, R2 connected between the drain terminals of the respective field effect transistors FET1, 2 and power supplies.
