<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal base which can lower the resistance of a lead leg for connection and the surge voltage while easing a stress applied to the lead leg for connection when tightening a fixing screw. <P>SOLUTION: The terminal base 1 to be mounted on a substrate 7 includes a pedestal part 2 having a screw insertion opening 2c, at least three lead legs 4 for connection with a circuit pattern formed on the substrate 7 provided in the pedestal part 2, and at least one lead leg 3 for fixing provided in the pedestal part 2. The tip 3a of the lead leg 3 for fixing is on the outside of a range surrounded by the tips 4a of the lead legs 4 for connection and on the outside of a space defined by projecting the pedestal part 2 in the screw insertion direction.
